If they do, it’s a good thing, according to S. L. Gaynor, assist ant director of the Highway Safe ty Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles. He warns motor ists to be on the lookout for youngsters as mlider weather and lengthening days keep more and more children out of doors past school hours. “Children playing in or near the street are caution signs for driv ers,” Gaynor said. “As the winter nip goes out o fthe air, every day there are more boys ahd girls on bicycles, on roller skates, coaster wagons, scooters and tricycles—in other words, more kids outside where they may get into the path of your car.” ROASTED PEANUTS WHOLESALE —OR RETAIL- ROASTED TO ORDER AND THEY’RE Redmond's Peanuts At Lumberton Bargain Store 1 W. Hutson got 2 for 2 and Beck 2 for 4, to lead the Springer team at bat, and no Hope Mills hitter got more than one safety but J. Deese, Miller catcher, pounded out a triple with the bases loaded in the Sth to bring the visitors back into the ball gam,e when the score reached an 8 to 9 count. The Springers tailed another in their half of the Sth, and broke up the affair in the 6th with a five-run rally. Artle Edwards went the route on the mound for hte Springs, while Graham and Dees, W, were the visitors hurlers. At Raeford The Springers go to Raeford on Friday night and Edwards and Beck are expected to be the start ing battery. In their first game last Thurs day the Springers outhit and out- scored Laurinburg 8 to 3 in a seven inning affair at the Scotties Park. This was a non-conference game, but' it showed Coach Van Hoy that his Springer club had weather the winter season in fine style, with promises for a good season this year. The 1949 Tar Heel turkey crop is expected to be one-fourth larger than last year’s.
